EMO PHILIPS

Described by Jay Leno as the best joke writer in America and by Gary Delaney as the best joke writer in the world, Emo Philips has performed over seven thousand stand-up shows in comedy clubs, colleges and theaters, including a multi-week run at the Playhouse Theatre in London's West End. In 2018 and from 2022-2023, Emo toured with "Weird Al" Yankovic (over two hundred concerts across three continents); Emo will forever remember the standing ovation he received at Carnegie Hall.

"I'm not sure when or where I first heard of Emo's routines, but once I did I instantly became a fan," says "Weird Al" Yankovic. "Emo had the iconic look of someone who could have been a major star in the era of silent films. His body language was indescribably weird. And his material was flat-out brilliant." If asked at gunpoint who the funniest guy in the world was, Yankovic adds, "Without question I would have to say Emo Philips -- especially if Emo happened to be the one holding the gun."
--- "Weird Al" Yankovic, Chicago Magazine

"I have adored Emo Philips since the UK in the 80's. He is hilarious."
--- Eric Idle, May 12, 2018

"Emo is the most brilliant joke-writer in the game. You HAVE to see him live. He's amazing."
--- Patton Oswalt, February 1, 2022

"Emo Philips... absolutely killed."
--- Rolling Stone (Carnegie Hall review), October 30, 2022

COMEDIAN TIM CAVANAGH BIOGRAPHY
Tim Cavanagh LOVES doing comedy! Sharing my clean, smart jokes (in MY opinion anyway) and funny songs with people makes my life a true joy! I have performed in 49 states (all but Montana--due mostly to my ongoing feuds with Joe, Tony, and Hanna...grudge holders all!). I have also performed in the beautiful U.S. territory of Puerto Rico, while criss-crossing the Caribbean on Carnival Cruises Lines. My shows on their ships fulfilled the prophecy of my high school guidance counselor, who predicted that I would one day end up “a Carnival worker.” These
days, I’m even busier on land, performing at theaters, clubs, and corporate events. I have been lucky enough to appear with comedy luminaries such as Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen Degeneres, Jay Leno, Steven Wright, Paula Poundstone, and Drew Carey
(who sometimes opened for ME before his own rise to superstardom). TV credits include appearances on ABC-TV, Comedy Central, and Showtime. My latest comedy special has appeared on “Dry Bar Comedy.” But I think my main claim to fame is the work I’ve done on 2 hilarious nationally
syndicated radio shows. My 300+ appearances on “The Bob and Tom Show” have provided a great platform for my offbeat songs, including my segment, “The One Minute Song,” which ran weekly from 2002-2006. More recently, “Tim Cavanagh’s Cavalcade of Celebrity Birthdays” has become a show favorite, as it
enters its 10th year on the program. My songs have also stood out on the legendary “Dr. Demento” Radio Show. I sent my first song, “I Wanna Kiss Her (But She Won’t Let Me),” to Dr. D. back 1981, the first of 30 songs that have been featured. My life was truly a wonderful run of laughter and fun! Until 2021, when I started getting death threats. Really serious death threats. From, of all people, my doctor! Who informed me on January 2 nd of that year that she had found a malignant tumor
in my pancreas. Miraculously, she had found it early. And thanks to the work of an amazing medical team, I successfully underwent cancer treatment, survived The Whipple Procedure, and had the tumor removed in September of that year. I did
my first show back in February 2022 and have not looked back. The cancer is gone! Today, I celebrate on stage by sharing my jokes and appreciating your laughter like I never have before. Laughter is the best medicine! Even for the comedian!!!
